IPME has partnered with Jacks Garage, California Skateparks, and Kraus Construction to provide Huntington Beach with a new 3-acre lighted skatepark and a 3,000 sq ft modular skate shop.
This includes shipping container bathrooms, water fountains, a snack shop, landscaped seating area, and shipping container pro-shop, utilizing used and new shipping containers for its structure. Working with shipping containers delivers a unique industrial and contemporary appearance, provides a substantially superior concentration of strength and durability, and has a positive environmental impact by using recycled materials. The retail store consists of 8 40-foot shipping containers and 4 20-foot shipping containers modified and stacked in a specialized and aesthetically pleasing configuration. Its giant glass doors and windows framed with aluminum entices customers into its doors. The interior and exterior will remain as corrugated steel paneling allowing people to visually grasp its one-off shipping container structure. The shipping containers interiors and exteriors are painted a combination of orange and blue and then finished with the store’s graphics and vender logos.
